Jackie and Clotaire seem to have nothing in common. Jackie is a decent girl from a good family, studying hard in high school. Her classmate Clotaire, on the other hand, grows up in a troubled neighborhood, likes to hang out and lives an unruly life. Although Jackie seems like a fragile girl to those around her, Clotaire is charmed by her fearlessness and also a very sharp sense of humor. On the other hand, she admires his unpredictability and spontaneity. Despite their differences, they fall head over heels in love and think that their love is unparalleled and will never end. However, Clotaire gets involved with a violent gang and is sentenced to ten years in prison for a murder that he did not actually commit. After many years of involuntary separation, the two now live very different lives. Jackie leads an orderly and peaceful life with her new partner, while the recently released Clotaire would like to deal harshly with his former comrades for their betrayal, for which he served many years in prison. However, every journey they take inevitably brings them back together. Will their fierce love triumph over Clotaire's desire for revenge and the contented life that Jackie now lives? The film Mad Love premiered in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received a fifteen-minute standing ovation after its screening. After its release in French cinemas, this story of a modern Romeo and Juliet was seen by an incredible one million viewers in its first weekend alone.
