Next weekend will be without work, without children, without men. Just a luxurious spa, massages, prosecco and a well-deserved rest. It sounds like the perfect plan. But one extra glass is all it takes and a peaceful wellness stay turns into a series of wild parties, exciting flirtations, crazy bets and crazy decisions that they may or may not regret. From the creators of the comedies Mothers on the Move and Party in Vegas comes Wellness Weekend – a cheeky and infectiously funny comedy about the best therapy being friends, laughter and sometimes even a real mess. Jane, Coco and Sophie have only one plan – to switch off, leave all their worries at home and enjoy a weekend full of wellness, prosecco and undisturbed well-being. But then Mel arrives. A friend who can turn any seemingly innocent situation into a complete disaster. What was supposed to be a luxurious escape from reality quickly turns into a wild ride full of alcohol, unexpected acquaintances, crazy ideas and awkwardness that only gets bigger and bigger. The only thing that is certain? They will definitely not return home with a clear head or a rested body. And most importantly – what happens in the wellness, stays in the wellness. The writers of the cult classic Vegas and directors of Mothers on the Move, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, bring a wild comedy about friendship, escaping everyday worries, and women who realize that between careers, relationships, and family, they have forgotten to take care of themselves. Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Anna Faris and Michelle Buteau meet on the big screen for the first time in this lineup. All of them are prominent faces of contemporary Hollywood comedy. Leslie Mann is known to viewers from the films 40 Years a Slave, One for All or How to Survive Single. Isla Fisher starred in the comedies Vegas and Shopaholics, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the film adaptation of the novel The Great Gatsby and in the film series The Conjuring. Anna Faris became an icon of the parody series Scary Movie, and Michelle Buteau is one of the most successful American stand-up comedians of our time. Along with the star quartet, the film will feature Australian actor Adam Demos, who has won fans all over the world thanks to the hit TV series Sex/Life and the romantic films Perfect Match and Lonely Hearts Club. “We wanted to make a film that would make women who are juggling work, family and other responsibilities every day feel understood. And most importantly, they would laugh from the heart,” says producer Suzanne Todd. The film was shot on the famous Gold Coast, where the filmmakers set up a luxury wellness resort. In addition to local hotel complexes, they also used adjacent film studios in Queensland, Australia, which is nicknamed the Sunshine State.
