Trans - Form: Art group from Würzburg

Art is a constant dialogue between borders and their crossing. The Trans - Form group, which was founded eighteen years ago in Würzburg, asks itself this very question: where does form end and where does its transformation begin? The five artists, associated in the Professional Association of Visual Artists, have not been guided by competitiveness from the beginning, but by the effort to present the diversity of contemporary artistic expression. Painting, graphics, sculpture, installations and performances all find their place in their joint work.
The name Trans - Form is not accidental, it refers to the variability of art, to the fluid movement between genres, media and concepts. The artists of the group do not hesitate to experiment, to seek new paths and to develop a dialogue between traditional and contemporary approaches. Their work oscillates between expressive painting, material objects, minimalist mechanics and figural compositions, while always remaining highly individual.
Since their first joint performance in Milan in 2007, the group has traveled across Europe, exhibiting in Merano, Hanau, Sligo, Ireland, Gdansk, Poland, and the French castle of Alba la Romaine. Each new exhibition brought a transformation, each space a different interpretation of their common language. Five voices, five paths of art.
Werner Kiesel works with expressive painting, in which light and color become a condensed sensory experience.
Irmtraud Klug - Berningerová breathes new volume into paper and returns it to the material essence it once had as a plant organism.
Cornelia Krug - Stührenbergová combines natural pigments with abstract symbols and figurative signs, bringing large-format oil paintings to life.
Magnus - P. Kuhn creates minimalist steel sculptures and mechanical objects that play with illusion and technology.
Gerhard Nerowski works in the expressionist tradition with wood and bronze, his grotesque sculptures oscillate between human and animal figuration and humorously enlarge objects of everyday life.
The exhibition is a meeting of five authorial approaches that intertwine, complement and contrast each other. Each artist brings their own personal touch, yet together they create a harmonious whole – an organic structure of constant transformation.

The opening will take place on Tuesday, April 29th from 5:00 PM.
