Veřejný prostor Františka Skály

On a playful journey through public space with one of the most versatile Czech artists, František Skála, it is possible to see the world differently. With humor, seriousness, and self-irony, the artist, performer, and musician provides an exceptional glimpse into many imaginary doors behind which lies beauty in imperfection, poetry in ordinariness, handprints in the passage of time, and the joy of creation as a way of life. Skála's creative energy can also be felt in the process of creating the monumental sculpture of the dog Vulpes Gott, from the creation of the model to the boat trip on the Elbe to the opening in Dresden. The plot intertwines with the artist's diaries and objects in public space, including his first sculpture in the Veltrusy chateau park, Prastánek, or the Garden of Eden in Sluňákov. The film features František Skála's friends, the band Třaskavá smes, the brass band Provodovjané, and the philosopher Miroslav Petříček. The Renaissance personality Skála is also known from the Sklep Theater, the Tvrdohlaví group, the Tros Sketos group, or MTO Universal.
