Paris, 1887. Dueling is officially forbidden, but still a common practice. And for many, also the only way to keep their honor. Clément Lacaze, a master swordsman, tries in vain to dissuade his nephew from an unequal duel with the experienced Colonel Bercher. Marie-Rose Astié de Valsayre, a feminist who fights for women's equality, tries to prove that honor is not only a man's business. The historical film by the actor and director Vincent Perez effectively uses individual variants of duels - with cords, pistols or with sabers on horseback.
