Michael Mason is a former top hitman who now lives a solitary life in complete isolation on a deserted island. His only personal contact with the world is a girl who brings him essential supplies. An unexpected twist in their lives occurs when a fierce storm catches them by surprise, Mason saves the girl and this unexpected situation forces him to reveal the location of the hideout, which he must abandon. Thus begins a series of very harsh events that force him to face his own dark past, accept his destiny and the responsibility to protect the girl's life. At the cost of many lives of his pursuers, who are behind them, with a mysterious agent (Bill Nighy) watching their every move. To his dismay, Mason's path out of hiding is lined with dead or, at best, moaning opponents who sought their lives.
