It was supposed to be a quick one-liner. Nothing that street thief Eddie (Bill Skarsgard) hasn't done many times before. When it turns out that the door of a luxury SUV parked in a deserted parking lot was left unlocked, it seems that luck has smiled on him. But appearances can be deceiving. When Eddie is inside the car, the door suddenly locks. And what started as a banal crime soon turns into the worst nightmare from which there is no escape. The self-proclaimed avenger William (Anthony Hopkins) begins to play a twisted game, the rules of which only he knows. And he has a lot of fun in the process... This nerve-wracking story about survival, justice and the dark sides of the human mind was filmed by Czech producer Petr Jákl in collaboration with Ara Keshishian and the famous Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Ghost in the Shell). Trapped is a thrilling remake of the 2019 Argentine film 4x4 about street thief Eddie, who breaks into a luxury SUV to steal valuables. Little does he know that he may be the one to lose the most valuable thing. The moment he is inside the car, the door locks and won't open. He grabs the handle again and again, frantically wrenches on it, tries to break the window, shout loudly at passersby and call from his cell phone. In vain. This is not just a luxurious car, this is the perfect hi-tech trap on four wheels. And the one who created it has invested far too much money and time in ensuring that Eddie gets away with it. Now he feels the consequences of his actions and learns what hell looks like. With every passing second, his situation becomes more desperate and the pressure more unbearable. Anthony Hopkins proved years ago that he can be extremely suggestive in the role of a heartless and perverse executioner of his own justice, when he won several awards for his role as Hannibal Lecter, including an Oscar. And William is also cruel and fascinating in his performance, whose unpredictable behavior torments not only his prisoner, but also the audience, forcing them to constantly balance on the border between justice and ruthless revenge. The carefree thief Eddie literally turns before our eyes into a desperate man who desires only one thing... But to just let him die? That would deprive William of all the fun! "We saw the successful Argentine film 4x4 and decided to buy the rights to remake it. Then we hired screenwriter Michael Rose, with whom we developed a new script for over a year, because the film is significantly different from the original. What appealed to me the most was the simple concept, which is very important these days for a film to succeed and get good actors," says its Czech co-producer Petr Jákl.
