THE POWER GAME

 

This visual and movement-based performance, with a certain dose of comedy, explores a current topic: the “power game.”

 

Two agile old men in suits move within a claustrophobically tight space defined by light. Their precise, stylised movement appears both determined and ridiculous, serious and satirical — at times seemingly chaotic, at others exact and highly stylised. The strange games these men set in motion are a metaphor for a struggle for power, as well as a raised warning finger: beware, accepting power structures can lead to the loss of control over one’s own life…

 

The work was born from a personal need to respond to disinformation surrounding Covid, the misuse of the topic of climate change, and the war in Ukraine for power interests and the manipulation of people.
