Stefan Orins is a French pianist, composer, leader of his own trio, who was awarded by music critics for the three albums he recorded with him and, above all, composed completely. A trio inspired by Scandinavian jazz, a mix of harmony and energy. The pianist's melodies hide a sensitivity that suggests a great spark of life. Stefan's Swedish roots provide inspiration for his compositions (e.g. a sense of airiness). Stefan Orins Trio will remind listeners of the qualities of Keith Jarrett in the 70s, and one can also find an affinity with the work of Bobo Stenson or John Taylor. The group goes beyond the traditional cliché of a piano-double bass-drums trio, primarily through incredible communication between the musicians. The essentials are spontaneity, lyricism and simplicity.
We are waiting for the jazz premiere of the American pianist, percussionist and composer of Haitian origin. Julius Rodriguez , who at twenty-seven is one of the most prominent new voices in American jazz, combines jazz with gospel and blues sensibilities. He studied at the prestigious Juilliard School and at the same time played in community gospel choirs and the club scene of New York.
Julius Rodriguez showed undoubted musical talent from his early New York childhood, and began playing the piano, which remains his main instrument to this day, at the age of just four. He soon became a student at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and later at the equally renowned The Juilliard School, where he perfected both jazz and classical playing techniques, which determined him to no longer limit himself to just one or the other, so to speak.
His love of other genres, especially gospel and hip hop, further enriched his eclectic approach to his work. As a teenager, he became a sought-after backing musician on the New York scene, playing alongside such names as Wynton Marsalis and Roy Hargrove.
Julius Rodriguez – keyboards, piano
Emilio Modeste – saxophone
Brandon Rose – bass guitar
Joshua Watkins – drums
