There is an infectious peace and idyll in the Smurf village, which always lasts only until the evil wizard Gargamel decides to prepare a new trap and catch all the blue smurfs in it. Fortunately, at the head of the smurfs is the wise Papa Smurf, who always has a plan in reserve to cancel Gargamel's threat. But is there any rescue in case Papa Smurf himself disappears? This is exactly what the animated comedy The Smurfs in the Movie tells. The Smurfs of the village have been sucked into the head by an unknown force that has appeared out of the blue in the sky. After a short but necessary phase of panic, Smurfette takes the lead and organizes a daring rescue mission. She takes the Smurfs to the most dangerous place under the sun - to our world, specifically to Paris. Here they are in for a surprise bigger than the Eiffel Tower itself. They discover that Gargamel is behind the kidnapping of Papa Smurf, who was not alone in doing so, but was essentially helped by his secret brother Razamel. Is this a coincidence? It is not. The series of surprises does not end, Papa Smurf also has a brother. His name is Ken and the kidnapping of his brother angered him so much that he decides to join the Smurf rescue mission. As we are used to with the Smurfs, in addition to rescuing, they will dance and sing. That is why the role of Smurfette was accepted by the world superstar Rihanna, who will be replaced in the Czech version by the equally vocal Dasha. The rest of the voice cast is also representative, we will hear, for example, Ondřej Sokol, Ivana Chýlková or Jaroslav Satoranský. "We tried to pay homage to the original comic book, but at the same time create a visual that would be attractive to today's young audiences. I believe we succeeded," promises director Chris Miller.
