The robot from the production line of the Rozzum type (for friends Roz) was designed to reliably perform tasks from its human assigners. However, when due to an accident he is shipwrecked on an island where there are no people, he has no idea what to do with his newfound freedom. And they also have to learn how to adapt to the inhospitable conditions of a lump of dirt in the middle of the ocean inhabited only by animals. Fortunately, Roz has such advanced software that she learns to communicate and cooperate with the local residents, and even becomes the adoptive mother of an orphaned baby. All her experiences here gradually lead to the fact that where before there was only a flawless computer program, there are now thoughts, opinions, ideas and, above all, feelings, which can sometimes be imperfect. In short, the robot girl humanized in a world without people. Unfortunately, she is a little worried about her manufacturers, who are missing one machine and are desperately searching for it, and then also her adoptive bird son-in-law. He must prepare him to fly to warm lands before winter comes. The movie Wilderness is an adaptation of the world bestseller by writer Peter Brown. The name of the main character has a Czech trace, as it refers to Karl Čapek and Rossum's universal robots from his play RUR. Director Chris Sanders (creator of the films How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods) discovered the book template thanks to his daughter's homework and immediately fell in love with it. "I too like big adventure stories, but I am even more pleased when I can observe small, even intimate emotional moments in them that you take away from the cinema. I also like to focus on these scenes as a creator, and here I enjoyed it immensely," says director Sanders.
