Potopa

The Flood tells the story of 1980 Czechoslovakia. Mara is 15 years old and dreams of becoming a pilot and leaving her village life behind. However, her father Alexander, a Ruthenian peasant and widower, insists that she stay at home and continue working on his native land. When the valley is flooded for the construction of the Starina dam, both of them must come to terms with the loss of their home and family heritage. At the same time, they search for a way to reconcile with each other amidst the struggle between tradition, identity and the desire for freedom.
