Theatrical adaptation of a humorous book

Comic incidents of a teacher with students of a New York evening preparatory school for adults. Students coming from various corners of Europe are fleeing World War II and looking for their new home in America. However, the condition is an English test, which is a superhuman task for many of them. The zealous Mr. Kaplan tackles a foreign language with incredible verve, indomitable energy and a very idiosyncratic logic.

Here, unique verbal humor alternates with homesickness, touching situations intermingle with funny ones. All this is accompanied by a number of songs and dances from around the world.
