This is not how Dušan (Michal Balcar) imagined his life! He was supposed to be a fearless hero in a story about love, courage and honor, not throwing manure on a farm and surviving in a relationship with Tereza (Alena Doláková), who is quitting again because this time she is determined to knit cheerful sweaters. Last time she wanted to make phone cases or organize weddings, and even before that she thought she would be a fitness trainer. In order to save what she can, Dušan signs Tereza up for a self-development lecture, thus definitively burying the last hope for a future together. Tereza succumbs to the charm of the charismatic speaker Kamil (Jan Dolanský) and ends up in his arms. Surprised and hurt, Dušan falls into depression. In an attempt to get his ex-girlfriend back, Dušan looks for answers where the modern world promises instant success – among self-confident motivators, coaches and “gods of success”. And it is at this moment that he meets Iveta (Gabriela Mikulková), Kamil’s estranged partner, who offers him an unusual individual coaching: if Dušan follows her advice for a month, change will come. And indeed! Dušan’s self-confidence skyrockets and none of the obstacles seem too big for him to overcome. But as it turns out, even the greatest gurus are not who they claim to be. Dušan’s journey to a “better self” turns into a series of absurd and comical situations, gradually stripping him of his last shreds of confidence. Jan Musil's bitter comedy, The Renamed, offers an ironic look at instant success and the illusions that the current phenomenon of personal development sells to anyone willing to believe it. "Sheep Eat First is a satirical comedy about people who always have the recipe for happiness and success at hand, and about a man who decides to take their motivational advice a little too seriously," says the director. The main actors of the relationship quadrangle are played by Michal Balcar, Jan Dolanský, Alena Doláková and Gabriela Mikulková, with other roles featuring Kryštof Bartoš, Robert Mikluš, Eva Leinweberová and Viktor Dvořák. The theme song, titled Chci tě motivovat!, was composed and sung for the film by the popular band Ready Kirken.
