Novokain

They call him Novocain because he has a rare "disability" that prevents him from feeling physical pain. Would you kidnap someone like that's girlfriend? In the action comedy Novocain, you'll see that it would be the worst idea ever.

Nathan Cain (Jack Quaid, star of the hit series Gang) suffers from a rare condition that makes him unable to feel physical pain. Most people would use this to keep their adrenaline levels high, but Nathan does the exact opposite. He lives a quiet life as a bank clerk who is scrupulously concerned about his own safety. What if he gets injured and bleeds to death without noticing? It's only when a new colleague starts to take an interest in him that he slowly starts to let go of his inhibitions. It could have been a beautiful romance if three armed robbers hadn't broken into the bank and taken Nathan's potential love of his life hostage with the loot. Nathan's soot is bubbling inside him and he sets out on his own to track down the kidnappers. What's wrong with him not being able to fight or shoot? When your gun falls into a hot fryer and you're not afraid to reach for it, you have a huge advantage. And Nathan himself gradually uses it with increasing gusto and ingenuity. But will it be enough for these all-powerful crooks? Especially when Nathan is on the trail of the police, who consider him an accomplice of the perpetrators... Director Robert Olsen considers Novocain to be an action film with a very original approach. "It's neither John Wick, where the hero manages to fight against overwhelming odds, nor a story where an ordinary guy turns out to be a former elite assassin. Our hero is exceptional in that he doesn't know how to fight much, but thanks to the fact that he can withstand even the biggest beating, he always finds a way to win," says the director.
