Sára is a beautiful twenty-nine-year-old woman who has no partner or child. She works as an assistant at the army headquarters, where she has no shortage of young and strong men, but she cannot choose between them, which her authoritarian mother and those around her indiscriminately throw at her. When she meets the gallant and charming Martin, she finally experiences the love she has only dreamed of. They gradually grow closer. But Martin is hiding a secret that is unacceptable to most of society. After their globally successful debut, I, Olga Hepnarová, directors Petr Kazda and Tomáš Weinreb come up with an internationally cast drama about intolerance and the courage to face it. With their debut film, I, Olga Hepnarová, Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda impressed renowned jurors at hundreds of foreign festivals, including the Berlinale, where the drama had its world premiere. Just as in the story of the last executed women in the Czechoslovakia, in the drama Nobody Likes Me, they reflect on the highly topical theme of the inability to meet the expectations of the majority society and the pressure, alienation and self-doubt that otherness brings. The main character of the drama is Sára, who works as a secretary at the military headquarters in Prague. She will soon be thirty, is single and childless, which her mother does not hesitate to remind her of at every opportunity. She finds at least partial understanding in her father and her friend Lenka, but most of all she is alone. She is only snapped out of a kind of lethargy by Martin. A man with a gentle face and gallant demeanor. They gradually begin to get closer, but when Sára wants to move their relationship to a deeper and more physical level, Martin unexpectedly cuts him off. Sára refuses to accept his reluctance to confide in her and wants to know what is preventing him from being with her. In the process, she discovers that Martin has a secret. He promises not to tell anyone, but in good faith breaks his promise. And in doing so, he condemns both of them to general contempt. To make the scenes from Sarah's life as authentic as possible, the creators consulted with military advisors and filmed with professional soldiers in the Prague garrison headquarters or during a military parade on Vítkov. The reclusive Sarah was played by Slovak actress Rebeka Poláková, known from the thriller hit about the mafia boss Miki, while the mysterious Martin was played by Lithuanian actor Mantas Zemleckas, who typified the creators' idea of looking like a young David Bowie. Barbora Bobulová, who started her acting career as a princess in the fairy tale The Immortal Aunt and subsequently became famous in Italy, where she has lived since 1995, excels in the role of Sarah's mother.
