They met on vacation in Italy. The Daltons, an ordinary London family, and charismatic doctor Paddy (James McAvoy) with his wife and son. It only took a few shared vacation experiences and the two families settled down so much that shortly after their return, the Daltons are already scurrying to the countryside to take advantage of the invitation to spend an unforgettable weekend at Paddy's vast farm in the countryside, far from civilization. As the Daltons (Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy) are going through a relationship crisis, they hope that a little adventure can "kick" them in the right direction. But everything goes downhill from the moment you arrive. The promised paradise on Earth is far from perfect, and the originally charming Paddy turns out to be a freak whose behavior is far from normal. This is also why the Daltons decide to end their stay with their "friends" early. Little does she know, however, that it is Paddy who will say when and if they will leave at all. Just like in the movie Torn and in Do No Evil, James McAvoy literally relished the opportunity to play a monster that has many conflicting emotions and attitudes. "I wanted the audience to fall for Paddy's charm as much as Dalton's," says director James Watkins. Paddy has undeniable charisma, he's a can-do guy, he doesn't take life seriously and he doesn't make a fool of himself. These qualities remain in his home environment, only instead of admiration they cause horror and terror. The movie Call Me No Evil is a remake of the successful Nordic thriller of the same name from 2022.
