Humble fisherman Joao (Jean Reno) shut himself off from the world after a tragedy. But when he discovers a penguin swimming alone in an oil-covered ocean, his first instinct is to help. Despite his wife's (Adriana Barrazo) fears, Joao rescues the seabird and takes it under his wing. He names the penguin DinDim and feels joy for the first time in years, not knowing the strong bond that will form between them. When DinDim suddenly disappears back into the ocean, Joao doesn't believe he'll ever see his friend again. Thousands of kilometers away, however, DinDim encounters problems of his own and decides to use his unique GPS-like abilities to find his way back home.
