In the film Mufasa: The Lion King, the shaman Rafiki tells the legend of how a young lion took over the rule of the Lion Kingdom and became everyone's favorite ruler. It introduces the audience to the orphaned lion cub Mufasa and a friendly lion named Taka, the heir to the lion throne, and takes them on a spectacular journey, on which both lion heroes are accompanied by a group of quirky characters.
The story unfolds through flashbacks. The lost and lonely lion cub Mufasa one day meets the friendly lion Taka, the heir to the lion throne. Their chance meeting marks the beginning of a spectacular journey for a remarkable group of quirky heroes as they try to discover what life has really dealt them. Working together, they are forced to escape a menacing and deadly enemy and find out if their bond with each other is truly strong enough to withstand the test. This all-new feature film, which combines elements of a live-action film with photorealistic CG, is directed by Barry Jenkins, produced by Adele Romanskia, Mark Ceryak and executive produced by Peter Tobyansen. The songs for the film were written by award-winning music composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
