The peaceful charm of the Belgian village and the relatively clear-cut life of fourteen-year-old Elias are disrupted by new neighbors who move into the house across the street. First and foremost, Alexander, the same age, his new classmate and friend. Or is there something more? Elias is suddenly confronted with feelings he has never known before, a confusing and disturbing attraction that he does not really understand and is ashamed of. How can he tell his family, his friends at school and his "girl" Valeria that his heart only beats faster when he is with Alexander? With this Alexander, who is clear about his orientation and calmly admits to Elias that he is into boys. In his confusion, in his desire not to lose Alexander or Valeria, and in his fear of public condemnation, Elias becomes more and more entangled in lies, and it is only his grandfather who reveals the big secret to him: love is exceptional and it would be a sin to let it slip through your fingers.
