When we say Togian, probably only a few people will know what we are talking about, when we say Sulawesi, most people will already know, and when we say Indonesia, almost everyone will already know. Yes, the Togian Islands are part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. However, tourism and diving tourism have not yet found their way here on a mass scale, and thanks to this, there is wonderful peace here. The Togian Islands lie just below the equator in the Tomini Bay and are protected on three sides by the island of Sulawesi, which is also why the sea here is very calm and there are rarely any waves, and thanks to this, there are no rainy and dry seasons here. They are therefore suitable for visiting and diving practically at any time of the year.
I have been to Togian three times and the main goal was of course diving, I have done more than 80 dives here and I have never met any other divers here except our group. But this idyll will certainly not last forever. In the lecture we will look at the islands of Una Una (active volcano), Togian, Malenge and Waleakodi. We will also introduce the attractions of the individual islands and life on them, but most importantly we will also look under the sea surface of these islands, where there is a lot of interesting things to see. We will also look at jellyfish lake - a sea lake with non-stinging jellyfish, of which there are only a few in the world.
