Travelogue lecture by Alena and Jiří Már
In Guatemala and Mexico, we explored the history of the Mayan civilization, climbed to the top of pyramids, visited local markets and indigenous people, and of course, tasted local specialties. We also learned what the job of cemetery shamans consists of and even experienced a volcano eruption. We looked at wildlife, underground caves called cenotes, and swam with turtles in the Caribbean Sea. We traveled around both countries on our own, using local transport and a rented car. We will tell you whether this way of traveling in Central America is safe.
