The music group Marien from Pardubice is one of the most prominent faces of the current generation in the genre of folk, country and tramp music. They are dedicated to acoustic guitar music and polyphonic singing, playing melodic songs mainly from the workshop of Vít Troníček. In addition to powerful vocals and strong songs, Marien is also characterized by a unique concert energy and literally family humor. Thanks to the adherence to traditional elements of the folk mainstream, the group's work remains attractive to a remarkably wide age range of listeners.

Marien are three-time winners of the Porta and many other awards, they were at the birth of the Folk žije! movement, they perform at leading festivals and their own concerts throughout the country and have accompanied many legends of the Czech folk scene. They also co-organize the Folkové Chvojení festival or the East Bohemian Regional Tour of Porta. For a non-professional band, Marien has an exceptionally large and ever-growing audience, which is able to follow the band to unusual outdoor concerts of the Cestou za Tebou cycle, or, for example, sell out the Great Hall of Lucerna in Prague a year in advance. Marien do not stay away from social events either, they organize benefit concerts during natural disasters, and regularly perform at anniversaries and celebrations associated with significant events. The song "Propast", about a divided society, for example, became the theme song for the huge demonstrations of the group "Milion chvilek pro demokracii", the Czech Camping Union celebrated 30 years of existence with the song "Tábornická", Kluk z Pardubice gained extraordinary popularity in his hometown, "Zrcadla" is one of the most played songs in genre media, and for example, the song "Strážci plamenů" far exceeds the standards of viewership of newly created tramp songs on social networks...

In 2009, the debut album titled Krajina v Tobě (Good day records) was released, the second CD titled V půli cesty was released in 2012 (FOLK ŽIJE!), in 2014 the group released a sonically sharper third album Ze Skla (FOLK ŽIJE!). In 2017, as a surprise for fans, the somewhat unofficial live album Marien - Ideon žive was released, a recording of the successful annual concert in the Ideon exhibition hall in Pardubice from November 2016. The entire concert can be viewed on the Youtube channel. In the times of Covid, a studio album 2020 is being created with a more sonically diverse arrangement and many guests, and in 2024, the current album Světla je víc will be released by the Supergram label, which, on the other hand, is recorded in the most faithful live form of the Marien group.

Meanwhile, bandleader Vít Troníček recorded a solo album, Mnohotváří větru, in 2021 and began performing as a singer-songwriter, or with the group Víťa Troníček Trio with bassist Marien Petr Opočenský and talented dobro player Honza Kouba. Occasionally, this line-up is expanded to include sought-after bluegrass multi-instrumentalists Ondra Kozák and Ralph Schut, this group uses the names Víťa Troníček and BG session.

The concert is seated.
