The Ondráš z Brno Military Art Ensemble is a professional art ensemble established by the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. It consists of an Orchestra of Folk Instruments, a dance group, and a girls' choir.
Through music, singing and dance, it presents the audience with artistically stylized folklore of its home regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. It occasionally also deals with related regions of Central and Eastern Europe (e.g. Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine or Romania). In addition to working with folk material, VUS Ondráš also explores other music and dance genres and creates original programs.
The company has been operating since 1954 and has since developed into its current form of almost a hundred-member collective, consisting of a professional base supplemented by a large number of external members. The program offers a wide range of programs from smaller, purely accompanying events of a representative nature, through educational dance performances for schools, to more extensive forms of dance-theater programs.
