JIŘÍ ŠORM: NA CESTĚ

The exhibition On the Road by Jiří Šorm presents an artist for whom travel has become a fundamental source of knowledge and inspiration for painting. Experiences from South America, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and other distant areas are not transformed into travelogues in his work, but into a distinctive pictorial world in which nature, myth, ritual and memory of the place intertwine. Šorm moves between figuration and abstraction, order and spontaneous gesture, with color, light and the energy of the painting process itself playing a significant role. His paintings are a search for man's relationship to nature and to the reality that transcends him. Painting thus becomes a way of approaching what is difficult to name - while at the same time retaining its mystery.

The opening will take place on Tuesday, October 20th from 5:00 PM.
