A personal, funny, touching and completely open film that reveals the most important moments in the professional and private life story of Ivy Janžurová.
In the documentary portrait, Iva Janžurová – an icon of Czech film, television and theater – is seen through the sensitive gaze of her daughter, documentary filmmaker Theodora Remundová. This closest possible relationship allows the director to move in her immediate vicinity. With this view, we uncover not only the admirable professional activity of Ivy Janžurová at present, but also her past career and personal life in the context of the times. The observational style naturally blends with the staged scenes, in which photographs from Iva's childhood and important moments of her life playfully come to life. We pass by important places and people, delve into private correspondence, but also into works in which she played.
The personal line of lover's, partner's and mother's love reveals itself as a breeding ground for passion for the acting profession, it intersects with thoughtful consistency in thinking about acting procedures. An essential element is the "ordinariness" that Iva Janžurová has maintained despite her high status, her natural people-ness and closeness to the audience, her ambition to give her best in the most western region of the Czech and Slovak Republics, as well as on the boards of the National Theatre. We follow a woman to whom a large part of the Czech-Slovak public relates, through film, television and theater stories and the characters she embodied and embodies in them.
