The House of Waters trio (dulcimer, bass, drums) with its distinctive instrumentation and artistic focus has released 11 albums, received a Grammy nomination, toured as the opening act for the supergroup Snarky Puppy, and featured legendary jazz guitarist Mike Stern on its latest album.

Moto Fukushima, originally from Japan and now living in New York, is a world-class six-string bassist who has studied jazz improvisation, Western classical music and Latin American traditions. His bandmate Max ZT, who has Czech roots, is a virtuoso on the dulcimer – the portable predecessor of the Hungarian dulcimer. He studied the music of the West African griots in Senegal and later became a student of Shivkumar Sharma, who did for the Indian santur what Ravi Shankar did for the sitar. Max ZT has developed his own technically unrivaled playing technique, which has earned him the nickname “the Jimi Hendrix of the dulcimer”. The result is a fragile yet explosive instrumental music that leads the listener through complex paths between quiet passages and moments of musical ecstasy.
