An original fusion of jazz and classical music of North India

The Harpreet Bansal Trio was formed in 2008. In its work, it combines North Indian classical music, jazz, various styles of folk music, contemporary classical, Bollywood and more. The Indian-Czech-Norwegian trio is a unique project in the field of bridging differences, which deservedly receives recognition from both music critics and a receptive audience.

Norwegian violinist and composer with Indian roots Harpreet Bansal has established herself as one of the most interesting Norwegian musicians in recent years. Her unique approach to the deep-rooted Indian ragga tradition draws inspiration from jazz, folk music and contemporary classical music. She is one of the most sought-after Norwegian performers who regularly performs at prestigious festivals at home and abroad. She has performed her music as a soloist with such important ensembles as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

Vojtěch Procházka is a versatile leading Czech pianist and composer, moving in the field of jazz and improvised music. After studying at the Jaroslava Ježek VOŠ, he studied for two years at the Conservatoire nationale supérieur de musique in Paris. He then completed a one-year exchange stay at the Norwegian Musikkhogskole in Oslo, where he was later admitted to a master's degree. Among his main projects are the Harpreet Bansal Trio or the local bands Vertigo, Monika Načeva & Zdivočelí kône or Luboš Soukup's Freetown Quartet. The walk also deals with improvisation for silent films and composing film music.

Andreas Bratlie is a drummer, percussionist, singer and songwriter who graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and freelances for a variety of artists and ensembles from electropop to contemporary jazz. In recent years, he regularly collaborates with Bertine Zetlitz, MiniMacro Wind Ensemble and Harpreet Bansal Trio. In the latter group, as one of the few musicians in Norway, he plays the tabla, an Indian drum.
