The documentary Hannah: Buddhism's Untold Journey tells the story of Hannah Nydahl and the adventure of bringing Tibetan Buddhism to the West. The film traces Hannah's wild and idealistic roots in hippie-era Copenhagen and follows her to the hedonistic city of Kathmandu, where in 1968 she and her husband Ole became two of the first Western disciples of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa—Tibet's first consciously reincarnated lama, the man who changed their lives forever. The main part of the film gives us a glimpse into the unique and inspiring love story of Hannah and Ole and shows their firm determination to bring Buddhism to the West. It depicts the journey of a great woman at the forefront of a turbulent, ever-changing world, from Europe and North America, through the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and Russia, to a kidnapping by guerrillas in South America. Hannah's documentary reveals how the Buddhist ideal of freedom, in all its forms, is more relevant today than ever before, and why everything Tibetan should not automatically be considered sacred.

The documentary will be shown on the occasion of the nationwide international traveling exhibition Buddhism of the Diamond Way: 30 years in the Czech Republic and 50 years in the West.
