EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert

In the late 1960s, Elvis Presley went to Las Vegas to play a few shows. But the constantly sold-out venues changed his plans, so that a few weeks stretched into an incredible seven years. Director Baz Luhrmann used found footage from this period to create a powerful musical experience, in which Elvis's greatest hits alternate with unique behind-the-scenes footage that shows the artist not only as a musician, but above all as a human being. “We wanted to make a film that was neither a documentary nor a classic concert recording. We tried to give the audience a dreamlike experience, a cinematic poem in which Elvis sings and tells his life story in a style they had never seen before,” says director Baz Luhrmann.
