Tomáš Hlaváček's feature-length documentary presents a time-lapse dive into the environment of the trade in poverty, the focus of which are the so-called predatory houses. One of them, the infamous Kuncovka apartment building in Brno, becomes the setting for a cruel drama. Its residents decide to resist the oppression and bullying systematically perpetrated on them by the owner of the hostel.
Tomáš Hlaváček's feature-length documentary presents a time-lapse dive into the environment of the trade in poverty, the focus of which are the so-called predatory houses. One of them, the infamous Brno apartment building Kuncovka, becomes the setting for a cruel drama. Its residents have decided to resist the oppression and bullying that the owner of the hostel systematically perpetrated on them. The fight for basic living conditions gradually brings the residents of the hostel and the people who try to help them into borderline and hopeless situations. It gradually becomes clear that it is not just a battle with the owner, but with the entire system of public institutions that enables his actions. The hopeless drama won the main prize in the Czech Joy competition at the 28th Ji.hlava IDFF.
