A determined and eccentric basketball coach, Marek (Martin Hofmann), fails in his attempt to get his team into the second national league. He would rather quit coaching altogether. But his son, Šimon, who has a mental disability, dreams of one day playing basketball for the national team at the Paralympics. Marek, who loves his son, decides to make this dream come true. However, he encounters a major problem. He is unable to assemble a sufficiently large team of suitable players who would also meet the Paralympic parameters. At that moment, his neighbor and unsuccessful theater director Daniel (Jakub Prachař) intervenes with a curious plan. He helps him assemble a team of healthy basketball players who will pretend to be mentally disabled. Daniel convinces Marek that this is the only way they have a chance to succeed and make it to the Paralympic Games in Rio, Brazil. It is insanely unethical, but Marek only thinks about making his Šimon happy. And so the basketball expedition full of fake disabled athletes soon heads for Rio. It is only under the hot Brazilian sun that Marek realizes how much trouble he is heading into and that this "turn in life" will be very difficult to take. Dream Team is not only full of crazy comedic situations, but also tells the story of personal honor and the power of parental love. The creators were inspired by a true story that happened at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics.
