Lucia is a shy sixteen-year-old girl who grows up under the watchful eye of her mother. The Catholic choir she joins is supposed to contribute to her good and honorable upbringing. However, during a summer camp in the picturesque setting of an Italian monastery, her paths cross with the sparkling Ana-Maria and a dark-eyed restaurateur.
Lucia is a shy sixteen-year-old girl who grows up under the watchful eye of her mother. The Catholic choir she joins is supposed to contribute to her good and honorable upbringing. During a summer camp in the picturesque setting of an Italian monastery, however, her paths cross with the sparkling Ana-Maria and a dark-eyed restorer. Nature is in full bloom, the scent of blooming roses wafts through the air, and Lucia discovers a previously unknown language of her own body, which is in direct contradiction to the chastity of the church and her naively pure faith. Are the grapes of our sins really so sour even when we break free from ancient values and listen to ourselves? Urška Djukić's feature debut may, with its vivid imagination, be reminiscent of the films of Céline Sciamma, her sensual and imaginative style, in which Christian symbolism blends with pure physicality, but reveals a unique vision of the world and one of the greatest promises of young European cinema.
