The Enchantress, one of the most famous musicals of today, was made into a film. Audiences in Czech cinemas will be able to enjoy the immortal story of two friends with magical abilities in both the original and the dubbed version.
A person who doesn't fit in usually has it a little harder in life than others. And what if its "misfit" can be seen at first glance. Prospective wizarding university student Elphaba (Cynthina Erivo) stands out from the rest by being green from head to toe. Fate tried to make up for it by gifting her with extraordinary magical talent. For a change, her classmate Galinda (Ariana Grande), who is really charming at first glance, has a small amount of that. These two absolute opposites are initially united only by mutual enmity and a common room, which was assigned to them (certainly with some ulterior motive) by the dean of the faculty of witchcraft, Madam Morrible (Michelle Yeoh). From the initial intolerance, over time, a great friendship and alliance of extraordinary girls will be born, whose abilities will soon be needed. Imaginary dark clouds are gathering over the entire kingdom of Oz, and unless the Great Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) saves it, they will have to help.
“There are films that make you fall under the spell of cinema, like ET The Alien or The Lord of the Rings. I wanted to make a film just like that. An immersive movie that makes you forget you're sitting in the dark with a bunch of strangers and find yourself in a fantasy world where you can sing, fall in love and fly,” says director Jon M. Chu.
