Amira, a pediatric surgeon, is forced to flee war-torn Aleppo with her young daughter. One desperate decision sets off a chain of events that will link the fates of five strangers - a smuggler trying to save his son, a soldier struggling with his conscience, a poet searching for a home, and a coast guard captain torn between duty and compassion. Their paths cross one night in the Mediterranean, where it is a question of both survival and the preservation of humanity.
The internationally acclaimed drama starring Omar Sy poses a pressing question about what humanity means in times of war and forced migration. The film premiered at the Berlinale, won the Amnesty International Award and numerous other festival awards. It is a strong title for arthouse cinemas, club audiences and screenings with discussion.
When the world falls apart, humanity is the last thing we have left. The film inspired by true events with the popular Omar Sy enters Czech cinemas on February 19th.
