BURIAN

 

Tomáš Dianiška's new play depicts the eventful fate of Vlasta Burian, a famous Liberec native. We follow him from his childhood in Reichenberg, through his beginnings in cabaret, his generous theatrical business and famous work in film, to the difficult war years and his bitter end. Burian's story mirrors the fate of the entire country.

 

The world of Burian is created by just five actors! It is a thrilling marathon with many quick disguises backstage and on stage and precise acting characters, cut out in a few seconds. The main character with all his transformations is created by Veronika Korytářová, whose performance received the closest nominations for both the most prestigious acting awards: the Theatre Critics' Award and the Thalia Award, which she was awarded in 2022.
