INTERESTING FACTS FROM FILMING • The Fighter hits theaters 40 years after the premiere of the legendary Fists of Darkness, starring Eliška Balzerová in both films. • Pavel Rímský, who voiced Rocky in the Czech version, brought a special kind of authority to The Fighter. When he spoke on set, everyone fell silent. • Milan Ondrík and Ján Jackuliak completed a year of intensive physical training. • The film features the largest number of professional wrestlers in the history of Czech feature films. • One of the fighters was played by singer Calin, multiple winner of the Anděl and Český slavík awards, for whom it was his first acting opportunity. • Hoffa and Kardos' entry into the cage was part of the largest tournament in the history of the Czech-Slovak fight scene and was watched by 25,000 spectators at the Eden stadium in Prague. • Ján Jackuliak filmed the final fight with a crushing fracture of his forearm, and the other actors who were assigned to fight and boxing scenes in the script also suffered injuries.
