Award-winning actor Milan Ondrík plays the role of former champion Hoff, who is trying to make a comeback to the world of combat sports. But his return is not just about the desire to fight again. In fact, he is trying to win something much more valuable - a relationship with his family, his own dignity and the opportunity to correct the mistakes that deprived him of everything he once cared about. A gripping story from the environment of one of the most attractive sports today, in which, in addition to leading Czech and Slovak actors, real MMA stars also appear. Pavel Hoffmeister alias Hoff used to be a European champion and Olympic medalist in boxing. After years away from the world of sports, he receives an unexpected offer to return to fighting. He picks up the thrown glove, but it is not a boxing glove. He will face his opponent in MMA. New rules await him, tough training and an opponent who will test his form and character. But he will not have the toughest fight in the cage. He will have to stand up mainly to himself and fight for the lost trust of those closest to him. A Fighter from a Place Where Every Mistake Hurts takes viewers into the real world of MMA, one of the most iconic phenomena of our time – from the tough training to the pulsating tension before a fight and the adrenaline rush in the cage to the authentic atmosphere of sold-out arenas. But most of all, it is a story full of emotions that cannot be locked in a locker room, losses that hurt more than can be said out loud, and determination that makes a person not give up. INTERESTING FACTS FROM FILMING • The Fighter hits theaters 40 years after the premiere of the legendary Fists of Darkness, starring Eliška Balzerová in both films. • Pavel Rímský, who voiced Rocky in the Czech version, brought a special kind of authority to The Fighter. When he spoke on set, everyone fell silent. • Milan Ondrík and Ján Jackuliak completed a year of intensive physical training. • The film features the largest number of professional wrestlers in the history of Czech feature films. • One of the fighters was played by singer Calin, multiple winner of the Anděl and Český slavík awards, for whom it was his first acting opportunity. • Hoffa and Kardos' entry into the cage was part of the largest tournament in the history of the Czech-Slovak fight scene and was watched by 25,000 spectators at the Eden stadium in Prague. • Ján Jackuliak filmed the final fight with a crushing fracture of his forearm, and the other actors who were assigned to fight and boxing scenes in the script also suffered injuries.
