Three friends who have long since turned twenty – three times over, in fact – have been walking through life together since college. While Meda struggles with loneliness, Iva with a marital crisis, it is Valerie who arrives from America after years and brings new energy and the conviction that if they don't start living now, no one else will. And so they catch their third breath, because it's hard to talk about a second one after sixty. Together they embark on a journey during which they experience many unexpected situations. They go to a wild party, to a coffee shop and finally end up at a vineyard, where after a few drinks they discover that they have been hiding one big secret from each other all this time. And the real ride is just beginning... Bardotky is an unbridled comedy about women who refuse to accept the idea that their best is behind them. Instead, they decide to rediscover the joy, courage and freedom of being themselves. “For me, Bardotky is a celebration of womanhood — a women’s film for women, made and written by women. And I firmly believe that each of us can find ourselves in the story of one of our three heroines. They also show that it is okay to have wrinkles, to be without a man or to want more from life. In short, it is a film that says: the way you are, you are great! And I believe that a piece of Bardotky is in each of us. There is rebellion, freedom, a desire to fulfill your dreams,” says director and screenwriter Hana Hendrychová, who created the film together with producer and screenwriter Pavla Krečmerová.
