The animated film adaptation of the famous book by Felix Salten tells the adventure story of Bambi the fawn.
The little fawn Bambi lives with his mother in the middle of vast forests. Since birth, his days have been filled not only with running around, but also with discovering and learning the secrets of the forest. His mother teaches him new things every day so that when he grows up he will be a strong and brave deer.
His closest friends are the rabbit Dupík and the raccoon Kvítek, with whom you can have a lot of fun even under the watchful eye of the prudent raven. Bambi likes to spend most of his time with his friend, the young doe Fili, who doesn't spoil any fun.
In autumn, however, their carefree life changes with the arrival of hunters. During a desperate dash, Bambi is separated from his mother and left alone. Frightened, he is found by a large, majestic stag who is none other than his father. Bambi must gradually learn how to protect himself from the dangers of the wild and how to grow up…
Working with real, live animals in their natural habitat was very challenging for the crew, but it gave a familiar story a new, realistic and utterly fascinating dimension.
The charming story of Bambi from the pen of Felix Salten continues to be loved by children and adults since 1923. Director and screenwriter Michel Fessler, who already won over the audience with the film Santa Claus: How it all began, brings Bambi to the screen in a breathtaking live-action version.
