ANNA NĚMEC SYPĚNOVÁ A DAVID MOJEŠČÍK MOJDA: SUPERNAL

The joint exhibition Supernal creates a dialogue between space and image, matter and light, order and intuition. Both artists deal with the human figure, spirituality and inner experience in their works, yet they approach these themes in different ways. The paintings of Anna Němec Sypěnová and the sculptures of David Moješčík enter into a mutual dialogue that connects the airiness of painting with the solidity of sculptural form. At first glance, contradictory expressions - the formless, elusive sky and the firmly modeled human body - complement each other and mutually reinforce their effect in the joint space of the Supernal exhibition.
Sypěňová's cloud paintings are not just a view of the variability of the sky, but rather a visual metaphor for constant movement, impermanence and spiritual transcendence. The subtle transitions of colour, the play of light and the layering of the painting create the illusion of depth, which draws the viewer into an indefinite, dreamlike space. Moješčík's sculptures, on the other hand, stand firmly in space. They are anchored, they are corporeal, but their dynamics are often directed upwards - in gestures, the bending of bodies and the expressed tension. Although they are physically tangible, they evoke movement, the desire to overcome gravity, to break free from the earth.
In the gallery space, two different, yet related forms of perception of reality meet - one immaterial and dissolving into infinity, the other solid and precise, but at the same time tending towards lightness and airiness. The Supernal exhibition thus invites viewers to meditate on the relationship between body and spirit, matter and emptiness, finitude and infinity.

The opening will take place on Tuesday, March 4th, from 5:00 PM.
